AKTA pure 25 M1 Fast Performance Liquid Chromatography (FPLC) Instrument
Description: The AKTA pure 25 M1 Fast Performance Liquid Chromatography (FPLC) instrument is reserved for size-exclusion chromatography, ion exchange, or affinity chromatography of proteins prior to grid preparation for electron microscopy. The instrument is equipped with a Fraction Collector F9-C and is stored in a 4°C fridge. Users may use the provided size exclusion gel filtration columns or connect their own columns to the instrument. Users can monitor their session remotely using Microsoft Remote Desktop via UCLA Campus VPN.
The AKTA pure 25 M1 is a stand-alone instrument for experienced users who are familiar with liquid chromatography of biomolecules (proteins, nucleic acids). Users are expected to run the purification procedure independently. Although EICN does not provide basic training on liquid chromatography methodology, EICN will provide new users with a short training on how to operate the instrument. After attending this training, new users will be authorized to reserve the instrument. Training can be requested by emailing eicnhelp@cnsi.ucla.edu. If you do not receive a reply within 48 hours, you can email Matthew Mecklenburg (mmecklenburg@cnsi.ucla.edu) to follow up.
