Cressington 108 Auto Sputter Coater, with Rotary-Tilting sample stage and Pt target

Description: The 108 Auto Sputter Coater is designed for high quality coating of non-conducting samples for standard SEM imaging. The device operates in either automatic and manual mode. The rotary-tilting stage allows the sample to be coated evenly from all directions. The stage accommodates up to seven 12 mm studs. The tilting angle can be varied from 0-90° in both directions by rotating the external body. The tilting angle can either be locked with the locking lever or be varied during deposition.

The permanently installed Platinum target provides a fine grain size that is smaller than Au or Au/Pd. Platinum’s higher work function than Au results in slower sputtering rates.

Key features:

  • Target available: Platinum only
  • Ionizing gas: Argon
  • Top deposition on planetary stage. Holds up to 7 SEM stubs.
  • Deposition rate: ~2 nm per 60 seconds for Platinum
